University of Utrecht is one of the largest universities in the Netherlands with 25 faculties
The challenge
The university is under pressure from the Dutch Government to put in place more business like and competitive processes, to reduce the cost and improve the performance. This resulted in the need to streamline the F&A and HR function, improve the planning & control and put in place project administrations. The initiative was made to set up one Shared Service Center for F&A and HR and make it ready for IT in the near future.
Our solution
- Atos Consulting has assisted the client in making a feasibility study including a benefit case, which showed more then 30% cost reduction.
- Together with the client we then designed the new processes, aligned the IT with the new processes, trained the people who had to work with the processes and communicated the processes to the internal organisation.
- At the end we helped the client to migrate the administrations to the Shared Service Center and closed down the old administrations.
- Our specific roles in this $ 2,5 M project were projectmanagement, changemanagement, creating the business case, redesign of administrative processes and training.
